In 2006, April Slaughter began writing articles for TAPS Paramagazine. Her writing has tackled a wide variety of unknown phenomena including spirits, UFO’s, psychic phenomena, cryptozoology, and more. Her primary research focus is Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP), Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC), and Induced After Death Communication (IADC). In 2008, she co-founded The Paranormal Source, Inc.a non-profit research and education corporation. This book is a personal look at April’s research in spirit communication. 

Would I recommend this book? Yes, while this is a VERY personal book it does have some good information about Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC) and will likely introduce readers to Induced After Death Communication(IADC). 

Pros: This book was a pleasure to read. April doesn’t get too bogged down with dry details and is able to share her experiences in a very meaningful way. I had not heard much about IADC so this was a nice introduction to that process. She also discusses some of the basics for ITC. While ITC is not a new form of communication, there is very little knowledge regarding how or why it works so April focuses mostly on the process and her experiences. 

Cons: Because this is a very personal account of April’s experiences, the reader must recognize that their experience with spirit communication may be different. She provides some basic information about the types of communication devices but because there is so little understanding of the “how”, she is mostly stuck telling her story. Many will appreciate the story so that is not a con but if you are looking to further your understanding of “how” spirit communication works, this is not the book that will do it. (I don’t think there is a book for that yet.)

Overall thoughts:  April is 100% a believer in a person’s ability to communicate with the dead and this is a book about how she has done that over the years. This book is good for anyone looking to understand how people might try to communicate with spirits and how that communication can impact their life.
